This course offers a comprehensive exploration of Quranic text and context in a broader historical perspective focusing on how a human being can benefit from it in today’s challenging life. Participants will engage with both traditional aspects of Quranic interpretation and its relevance to the evolving world and its dynamics.

This course involves an analytical study of renowned work done by great exegetists of Indian sub-continent like Syed Abul Ala Modudi, Maulana Amin Ahsan Islahi, and Allama Shabbir Ahmed Usmani viz-a-viz the work done in the Arab world like Tafseer-e-Tabri, Ibn-Kathir, Jalalayn and others, to embrace a near-accurate realization of this final revelation in light of work done by our great scholars over a timeline wider than past 1000 years.

The curriculum is designed to foster meaningful discussions on how the teachings of the Qur'an can be applied to contemporary issues, enabling Muslim men and women to connect their present experiences with the Quranic past and future. This course encourages an open-minded approach, steering clear of taboos and focusing instead on how to draw inspiration and guidance from the Qur'an in today’s context. Assessments

The course includes weekly homework assignments, designed to help the instructor monitor student progress and comprehension, while also reinforcing key concepts for students. These assessments typically require about one hour of effort per week. Performance on these tasks will be considered for certification. Additionally, students are encouraged to independently work through the book exercises to further strengthen their concepts.
